Why HDR matters in this market
DMV interiors are frequently high-contrast: a rowhouse living room with one bright front window, a Bethesda kitchen under dense tree canopy, a basement level with mixed daylight and recessed lighting. A single exposure either blows out the window or crushes the room. Bracketing and blending keeps both readable, which is the difference between a photo that looks like the house and a photo that looks like a phone snap.
Where a room needs it, we mix flash with the ambient exposure — the flambient approach — so colour stays accurate under tungsten and LED lighting instead of drifting orange or green.
How to prep the home
- •Turn on every light and replace any dead bulbs
- •Open blinds and curtains fully
- •Clear counters, fridges and bathroom surfaces
- •Park cars off the driveway and roll bins out of frame
- •Hide pet bowls, cords and personal photos
Pairs well with
Most agents add a walkthrough video or a 3D tour to the same visit so the seller only has to prepare the home once. Virtual twilight images are a low-cost way to give the exterior a hero shot when the natural dusk window doesn't fit the schedule.
