Who it's for
The DMV runs on relocation — government, military, contractor and diplomatic moves mean a real share of your buyers are shopping from another state or another country. A Matterport tour lets them qualify or rule out a home without flying in, and it keeps unqualified showings off your seller's calendar.
It also earns its cost on layouts that are hard to read from stills: converted rowhouses, split-levels, condos with unusual footprints and larger homes with multiple wings or finished lower levels.
Matterport or Zillow 3D?
Zillow 3D is the value play when your traffic comes from Zillow and you want the tour badge on the portal listing. Matterport is the premium option — sharper scanning, true measurements and the dollhouse view — and is usually the right call above the local median price point. Both are $250 to start; pick based on where the listing's audience actually is.
On the day
Scanning happens after the photography so the home only needs staging once. Plan on extra time on site for a full scan compared with stills alone; delivery is still the next business day by 12 PM.
